“We may never be strong enough to be entirely nonviolent in thought, word and deed. But we must keep nonviolence as our goal and make strong progress towards it.” This quote is from Mahatma Gandhi, a human rights activist and a preacher of nonviolence. He believed in truth above all else, and the practice of nonviolence. He understood that it would be very difficult to have the patience to remain nonviolent in hard times of oppression and poverty. His courage enabled him to set an example of staying true to himself and his beliefs. Gandhi was able to stay true to his roots throughout his life whether he was being discriminated against or being thrown in jail numerous times. It takes true courage to remain resilient in one’s own mind when the world around seems to be falling apart. Gandhi was able to do this thanks to his belief in the power of truth and love, and he became a symbol of peace for his people. He was the courage that they needed.
Making a difference on the world can be challenging, but one person that left a huge mark was Mahatma Gandhi. He was courageous throughout life to remain faithful to the structures of nonviolence and love. He made a difference on thousands of lives and his story continues to change the way people think today. He inspires courage and peace, and as long as people believe in that, his message will live on.
